This blogger-stalking thing will be a new regular feature here on Dog Friendly Brooklyn; at least until I get bored or arrested.
My first interviewee is Erica, founder of the preeminent Brooklyn publication, Fucked in Park Slope. Erica was a good first target, and didn’t require much stalking, probably because she clearly loves blogging and tweeting about her dog, Oliver.
Name: Erica Reitman
Blog: Fucked in Park Slope (aka FIPS)
Part 2 – About Erica
Q: How long have you lived in Brooklyn?
A: 4+ years
Q: Favorite Bk neighborhood besides Park Slope?
A: Park Slope South?
Q: What do you do when not blogging?
A: What makes you think I’m EVER not blogging? If I’m not blogging for FIPS and I’m not blogging for my other blog (Design Blahg) I’m probably watching bad reality TV.
Q: Favorite dog-related FIPS post?
A: It’s a toss up between the one in which I talk about the first time that I let Oliver go off leash in Prospect Park or this one.
Part 3 – About Oliver
Q: Breed?
A: Basset Hound
Q: Age?
A: 8+ ish (we adopted him so we’re not 100% sure).
Q: What makes your dog awesome?
A: He’s hawt and he knows it.
Q: What’s your dog’s favorite activity or place to hang out?
A: Prospect Park off leash.
Q: Has Oliver ever been on any trips outside of NYC with you? If so, where?
A: He’s come with us a few times to my in-laws beach house on Long Beach Island in NJ…but that’s about it.
Q: Best dog friendly Brooklyn bar?
A: I doubted them at first, but now am a believer in The Gate.
Q: Oliver’s best trick?
A: He doesn’t really know any…unless you count “sit” as a trick.
Q: Worst habit?
A: Bassets are low to the ground, but they are basically a medium sized dog on short legs. Often we are walking and I want to go one way, and Oliver wants to go another and he pulls back on his leash and with all of his weight (60 pounds) tries to show me who’s boss…in truth, it often works.
Q: Favorite toy?
A: He’s not really into toys, though he loves a good kong stuffed with treats and some peanut butter on top.
Q: Most annoying thing about dog/pet owners?
A: Just like parents, often we won’t stfu about our pets. I am WAY guilty of this myself (case in point, click on all the oliver tagged posts on my blog. Oy)
