Yes, You Can Bring Your Dog to Bark Hot Dogs on Pier 6, Brooklyn Bridge Park

After nine months of not blogging, I was inspired to revisit this blog to share my recent experience at Bark Hot Dogs‘ new concession stand at Pier 6 of Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Bark scored some awesome rooftop space near the water and new beach volleyball courts (yes, that’s right) in Pier 6 park.  The place boasts a great view, a solid number of picnic tables with umbrellas, and some tasty dogs (even the veggie dog, which I had, was pretty darn good).

But from my point of view, the best part was being able to bring Duke along with me.  I’d put together a semi-organized gathering of friends Saturday afternoon and staked out a table around 12.30pm.  I had assumed that since there was food being consumed, dogs of the mammalian persuasion wouldn’t be allowed.  But really, the Bark Hot Dog folk have just a stand (a large one, but a stand nonetheless).

When I arrived, I noticed their jar of dog treats by the register and of course immediately inquired about their (non hot) dog policy.  With their blessing, I ran home to pick up Duke… the boy loves a good party, and who am I to deny him that?

Although the umbrellas offer shade, I do recommend bringing lots and lots of water, because it can get mighty hot up there.  And we wouldn’t want your pooch to turn into a hot dog, would we?

Aargh, that was cheesy!

Giant dog noms man in new Pier 6 Brooklyn dog run!

Ok, not really. But isn’t this a funny picture?

om nom nom...

We visited the new dog run at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park last night.  Snazzy design, though I don’t know how running on pebbles feels for dogs? Do the rocks get stuck between their paw pads?
